All Chester Running Events Named As The Representative Races For England Age Group Masters Championships 2023
What an incredible ‘Hat-trick’ of an achievement & badge of honour for the MBNA Chester 10K, ESSAR Chester Half Marathon & MBNA Chester Marathon & Metric Marathon to host the England Age Group Master Championships.
We are proud that all our award-winning events have fast courses and are perfect for all running abilities. Our races are incredibly popular and have a brilliant fan base, including those stepping onto the streets for their first running event, charity runners, regular runners soaking up the atmosphere and aiming for a new PB, through to the seasoned and elite runners who wear the England Vest with pride, having achieved the right to race at the England Age Group Masters Championships.
It is the first time an organiser will be hosting all three England Athletics Age Group Championships in one year, and we are elated to be working with England Athletics and their prestigious championships. Each race’s course is simply stunning, taking runners through the historic streets of Chester and surrounding picturesque villages. All the years of hard work behind the scenes by our team and dedicated volunteers, centred on race experience, safety, and runner’s enjoyment, has helped us achieve this significant milestone. We offer runners support and guidance from sign-up, race information and training support through to the breath-taking city centre finish line, our popular race tech tops, medals, and highly desirable post-race goody bags.
Hosting the England Age group master’s championships at all our races, will enhance an already unforgettable experience and exhilarating atmosphere; so, whether you’re looking to reach the finish line of your first race event, raise valuable funds for a charity, improve your fitness, achieve a PB or you want to race alongside the elite (or try to beat them) – you can enter each race schedule by clicking on the links below:

Chester provides a beautiful and convenient location for our master’s athletes from across England. The facilitates at the start and finish are ideal for us and we love the way the team at Active Leisure Events go the extra mile to make our masters athletes feel valued, recognised, and supported. The races themselves are fantastic, with fast routes, a mix of beautiful countryside and city centre atmosphere, with slickly organised race logistics and brilliant volunteers.”
