MBNA Chester Marathon

Sunday 5th October 2014

Are you looking for an autumn marathon? Perhaps one last big effort to round off your road running year? Or maybe somewhere to finally take part in a marathon and raise money for your preferred charity? Well, whatever your plans, you're looking in the right place!

In 2009 we had a vision to bring a great event to the streets of Chester and North Wales. And in just a few years we have been awarded:

  • Runners' World UK Marathon of the Year in 2012

  • Runners' World UK Road Marathon of the Year in 2013(receiving 97% positive feedback through the Runners' World forum)

  • UK's Best Mass Participation Race of 2013 in the Sweatshop Awards for the Running Industry

But what always excites us most is to read the feedback we get from our runners. Here's what a few had to say after last year's race:

"My first marathon and I'm glad I went with Chester, the guys who organise this do a fantastic job." Susan Christian

"Well the organisers and volunteers have pulled it off again (thanks Andy and Chris!). It was another superbly organised, well supported and incredibly fun marathon. It's not flat but the gentle rolling hills give as much as they take. The local support is brilliant and there's always a great buzz at the start and the finish. Unmissable." Russell Nimbus

"The best marathon I have done." Phil Tipping

"Exceptionally well organised and supportive before after and during the race, great atmosphere." Susan Edwards

It's this type of feedback that gets us pumped up to make the race day experience even bigger and better. So in 2014 we're looking to invite more runners to Chester to join the party. And that's where you come in. We want you to be part of the action on Sunday 5th October.
