Information for Residents - 2018

This information is from 2018. Details of the 2019 road closures and diversion will be published nearer to the race, and is expected to be similar to last year.

We want to minimise disruption for residents on race day. Here is some information to help you get about during the race.

You won't be able to drive on roads that are closed. You can see detail about the route and road closures here. The detailed road closure order is on Cheshire West and Chester website

If you live on the route and will need to leave by car during the road closure we advise that you move your car before the closure starts. If you live off the route you will need to avoid the closed roads, here is some advice for residents.

If you live in Mollington

Parkgate Road through Mollington will be closed from 08:30 to 13:00. To exit Mollington at this time use Station Road to join the A41.

If you live in Saughall

From 8:30 until 13:00 Parkgate Road will be closed. Access and exit via Sealand Road to North Wales and the Wirral is available at all times. Access via Sealand Road from Saughall into Chester will be available except for a twenty to thirty minute period from 08:55, while the runners leave the Chester Racecourse. Access from Chester towards Saughall will not be available via Sealand Road between 07:30 and 10:00.
