You’re going to love being part of it all!
We’re thrilled that the Hospice of the Good Shepherd is the main charity partner for the 2026 event. We are YOUR local hospice and the only provider of specialist end-of-life care covering Cheshire West, Ellesmere Port and Deeside.
The Essar Chester Half Marathon is one of the most loved and popular events in Chester’s running calendar and it takes place on Sunday 17th May 2026.
You’ll be running through one of the UK’s most historic and beautiful cities, cheered on at every stage by enthusiastic supporters and rewarded with a tsunami of satisfaction as you cross the finish line and celebrate a brilliant personal achievement with friends, family and supporters!
Just imagine how that will feel! It will be as much of magic memory for the seasoned half marathon runners as for all you all your first-timers.
We guarantee that running the 2026 Essar Chester Half Marathon will be an experience you’ll never regret or forget and you’ll have the added satisfaction of knowing that you’re actively supporting a truly amazing team of doctors, nurses and therapists who are caring for the people that matter to most to you - family, friends, neighbours and colleague - when they are at their most vulnerable and afraid as they face the last chapter of their lives, with love and always without charge.
No other organisation in our area does what we do. Isn’t that worth running for?
