Race Information & Route
The MBNA Chester 10K returns 10th March 2024!
The multi-award winning, sell out, MBNA Chester 10K is Chester's only city-based 10K and is the first event of the Chester Triple Series so why not join us for what will be an amazing day. This event sells out every year, so don't delay!
Race Entry Fees:
UKA Affiliated £28
Non UKA Affiliated £30
All finishers will receive a technical T-shirt, bespoke medal and a top-quality goody bag.
The MBNA Chester 10K will start on Nuns Road adjacent to Chester Racecourse and utilise two Start Waves. These will be clearly indicated on your race number.
First Wave (Orange) = 09:00
Second Wave (Blue) = 09:30
Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 men and women and the winners of each age group.
It is important you start at the correct time for the wave you have chosen.
The fast course starts from Chester Racecourse and heads north-west out of the City along wide roads allowing runners to rapidly settle into race pace. Runners will then pass close to the picturesque village of Mollington, before returning to the heart of Chester City centre and finishing outside the historic Victorian Town Hall and Medieval Cathedral.
A more detailed route profile and elevation can be found here.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top 3 male and female runners and will be based on gun times for the first wave. Runners who have run 10K faster than 45 minutes are advised to enter the Orange Wave.
1st place £300
2nd place £200
3rd place £100.
The first male and female finisher in each age group from U17 to 80+ will also be awarded a £25 cash prize. Age group prizes will be based on chip times from all waves so runners in all waves have an equal chance of winning. If a runner wins a prize in more than one category, the prize of the higher value will be awarded.
You can expect some fast times over this 10K course, hosted on fully closed roads with chip timing.
Drinks & Toilets
Drinks stations with 330ml Sports Cap Brecon Caregg bottled water will be positioned in the village of Mollington at the 5K mark.
Toilets will be located around the start venue, at the drink station and after the finish.
