Road Closures 2022
On race day, roads will be closed to ensure the safety of runners, spectators and members of the public. We aim to create as small a footprint as possible to minimise disruption to residents and businesses, and to work with local communities to help them to benefit from the event.
Roads that remain open will be busy, delays will be likely and diversions will be in place during the road closures. Some bus services will also be affected and may be diverted. Roads will only be closed for the minimum period necessary to ensure safety.
Our route and associated road closure times are agreed by CWaC council and Cheshire Police in order to safely accommodate the event.
The interactive map below shows the road closures for the 2022 event and will always show the most up to date plan. This page will be updated nearer to our 2023 race with any changes. Please note that roads will only open when it is safe to do so. We hope the information on this page will assist you with planning your travel. If you require further advice, please email email@example.com.
To open the map below in full screen click the button in the top right corner of the map window below.
To switch between satellite and map view, use the side bar, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the square tile.
To show the road closure information, click on the highlighted roads or symbols.
You won't be able to drive on roads that are closed. Further detail about the road closures and parking restrictions will be on the CWaC website here.
Access to the city centre will always be available via Sealand Road and New Crane street, except for a short period between the two race starts. We aim to close this section of road between 08:58 - 09:10 and again at 09:28 - 09:40
If you live on the route and know you will need to leave by car during the road closures, we would advise that you move your car away from affected roads before the closure starts.
If you are travelling into the city, please use Liverpool Road, Hoole Way, the A51 and Grosvenor Road routes to avoid the closed roads. Sealand Road will be remain open after 09:40.
Residents of Bouverie Street north of Garden Lane can exit via West Lorne Street onto Chichester Street.
Residents of Raymond Street are advised to park south of the junction with Canal Street, and will be able to exit on Tower Road to New Crane Street, except for the short periods when runners are passing.
Residents of Mollington can access Chester or the Wirral using Station Lane to get onto the A41. To access Saughall use either Overwood Lane or Coalpit Lane.
Road closures do not apply to pedestrians. If you are on the run route please take care as there will be race vehicles on the route.
Never miss our training runs or special offers!
