The 2025 Essar Chester Half Marathon Fun Run is open to anyone can to take part, however, it is aimed primarily at children.

Accompanying parents, guardians and grandparents are welcome - but please note you need to enter too.

We're looking forward to welcoming our Fun Runners and supporting them on their run around Chester Racecourse. The Fun Run (approximately 1 mile) will be conducted wholly within Chester Racecourse, starting and finishing at the main race start.  It will start at 09:20.

The Fun Run will also raise funds for our race charity Claire House Children's Charity. 

Fun Run Entry = £10 which includes a £1 donation to Claire House Children's Charity, (the cost may be more if you decide to donate more during the entry process).

Each Fun Run participant will be given a souvenir race t shirt and race number, with all finishers receiving a bespoke medal, bottle of water and a treat.

Adults accompanying/running with their children also need to enter the Fun Run. 

This is a fun run and not a race with the aim being to involve as many people as possible.  With this in mind, everyone is a winner and there are no official timings or prizes.

There are limited places, and these will be issued on a first-come first-served basis.
