Keep the NHS Running!
THIS IS A FREE VIRTUAL event which will take place weekly. Every Monday there will be a new event to enter. We hope to motivate you to keep up your fitness, and raise money for our fantastic NHS at the same time.
How does it work?
Choose your distance - you can walk, jog or run a 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1 miles) or 1 mile (ideal distance for getting younger children out and active with you too). You can enter more than one distance a week but please only exercise once a day.
The event is completely free. We take no money from this event and nor does our service provider Nifty. Please help the NHS by donating to one of the charities on our Just Giving page here. Even a small amount helps.

Every week one lucky runner will get a free entry to the ALDI Chester 10K 2021, and we'll email you if you have won.
Complete your chosen distance, at a time to suit you and at your own pace. Choose somewhere quiet, that you can get to by walking or running from home. Don't overdo it - this is training not a race.
If you want to you can download a printable number from your confirmation email, showing you are raising money for the NHS. The 1 mile version has a rainbow picture to colour in too.
Use the link in your confirmation email to upload your time and see how you compare with other runners. You can download a certificate to show how you have done, and watch your times improve each week.
England Athletics age guidelines for running are:
- for 5k runners should be 11 years old
- for 10k runners should be 15 years old
Children should be supervised if running on open roads.
This virtual event is not a race, and can be completed by walking, jogging or running. For this reason we have not imposed age limits, but if you're under 16 a parent or other responsible adult will need to enter for you.
Please note that as each runner covers a different route, the times can't be compared and so there will be no prizes for the virtual race.
