Training Runs & Seminars
Thanks to all those who joined us for our 2019 training runs and thanks also to Chester FC for hosting us.
On Sunday 29th September we had our "One week to go" Facebook Live webinar, with lots of tips and advice for the final week and you can watch it below
Our free monthly "pop along and join in" training runs will start in January 2020 to prepare for the Aldi Chester 10K in March, the Essar Chester Half Marathon in May and the MBNA Chester Marathon & Metric Marathon in October.
Our 2020 dates will be announced towards the end of this year.
For the training runs, we meet at 9am at Chester FC's Deva Stadium, CH1 4LT and run along the traffic free river path.
If you've not joined us at one of our training runs before, don't be shy, everyone is welcome. We're a friendly bunch and will have a number of pace runner led groups, running at various paces and from 7:30 minutes to 11 minutes per mile. Many of the groups are led by the Pace Runners from our events.
Please run with something showing your name, an emergency number and any medical conditions we may need to be aware of. If you've got a Parkrun barcode that would be ideal, but anything we are able to read will be fine.
These runs give you the opportunity to run with others and chat about their training, gaining valuable advice, tips and encouragement.
Due to the out and back nature of the route we are unable to allow dogs at the training runs.
On 12th August, we had an online question & answer session about 'Achieving Your Marathon Goals' with Dave Taylor, our official Coach and Chris Hulse, Joint Race Organiser. Following an introduction, we took questions directly from our followers on social media. The video includes lots of helpful advice and you can watch it below.
At our training run on 7th July we had a "13 weeks to go" seminar. If you didn't make it to the seminar or would like to revisit it, you can watch it here.
Our suggested schedules for 2019, which tie into our training runs, were:
Never miss our training runs or special offers!
The route is renowned for being fast and largely flat – more than 70% of our runners achieve PBs!
